"In my case, the beginning of any creative process always starts with a “What if?” While searching for ideas for a new painting, I came across a dolphin trainer. I am absolutely against animals in captivity and strongly against training them for entertainment purposes. The trainer kept bragging about her abilities to ride on the back of an orca, as she kept talking I started imagining an oceanic rodeo, so I told her: being that you are so good at riding the back of an animal in captivity, what if you did it in the open sea, better yet what if, instead of a docile dolphin you rode a marlin. She obviously detected my sarcasm, but it placed that image in my mind that I just had to paint it" ~Eduardo Bolioli
