"Surges is a dynamic mixed media piece with many hidden creatures emerging from the textures of the paper. This painting was created as a final art project during my senior year at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It was awarded “Painting of the Semester” and was displayed in the UH Art Advisory office. A sibling piece to Bait Fish, this work was inspired by the concept “inwards looking out” and is intended to convey feelings of connectivity and harmony." ~ Mae Waite
