The Omilu (Bluefin Trevally) fish, also known as the giant trevally or sometimes Ulua, is a large species of fish that can be found in the tropical waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They have a streamlined body that is blue-green to silver in color with a yellow tail. They can grow up to 6ft in length and weigh up to 220 lbs. They have a large mouth with sharp teeth, and have a powerful body built for speed and agility.
They are found in a wide range of habitats including coral reefs, lagoons, and coastal areas. They are known to be found in large schools and are known for their predatory nature.
Bluefin trevally are caught using various methods such as line fishing, trolling, and casting. They are considered a valuable food fish and are highly prized by recreational and commercial fisherman. They can be cooked in a variety of ways including grilling, broiling, baking, or smoking. In some areas, it is considered a delicacy and is often served as sashimi.
