Born in Uruguay, Eduardo Bolioli migrated to New York with his family in the late seventies, where he studied at the prestigious School of Visual Arts. He moved to Honolulu in the mid-eighties, and started his career painting surfboards for professional surfers, including world champions Shaun Tomson, Sunny Garcia and Martin Potter. He became the art director for Blue Hawaii Surf, and later for Local Motion, and he also designed for surf brands like Quiksilver, Billabong and Gotcha.

Bolioli’s art caught the attention of Hawaii concert promoters, and he created concert posters for local appearances of famous musicians including Miles Davies, UB40, Aerosmith, and Seinfeld.  Miles Tanaka, the art director at VH1 national music channel, was attracted to Bolioli’s distinctive style and brought him to New York to create several designs and animations for their channel.

Later he discovered Posca markers, allowing him to develop a truly unique style of painting boards. Eduardo soon became an art director for Blue Hawaii Surf and Local Motion while also designing for Quiksilver, Gotcha, and Billabong. Since then, Eduardo has achieved worldwide acclaim for his art, and his work can be found in galleries and private collections around the globe.
